Holy Updated Blog, Batman!

Okay, okay! It's been a while! But everything is updated from Hawaii 'til today! It's been a little tricky getting time to update my blog, but I hope it's not a trend! I'll try and update it whenever I can! Enjoy and take care, all!

Coolin' Off

Oh my goodness it's hot here! So, we're doing everything we can to keep cool! Here's some pictures of Kamden trying to cool off!

And it's no fun to try and cool off by yourself! It's much more fun with cousins! Here's some of Kami's!

This is Kami's 2nd cousin (1st cousin once removed...aka, my cousins kids), Madison.

This is Madison's brother and sister, Hunter & Brooklyn.

And there are Kami's cousins, Josh & Vanessa!

Happy Birthday Kamden! Part I: Denver Edition

I can hardly believe that my baby girl is almost 1-years-old! Sheesh! Well, here's some pictures of her little birthday party in Denver. Since Drew and I weren't going to be together for Kami's birthday, we had a little party in Denver before he left to go back to OKC. We had to wake Kami up from a late nap, so she wasn't very happy!

Happy Birthday to you!

Blowin' out the candle with a little help from cousin Halle and Auntie Jamie.

Diggin' into the cake with a little help from Daddy!

Tryin' to cheer up with a little help from Mommy!

We needed a lot of help, but I think we had a pretty fun birthday.

Photo Challange: Botanical

What better of a place to take pictures of botanicals than Hawaii, right? Unfortunately, the Big Island was going through a 6 month drought. So...I did the best I could, when I found botanicals, I took pictures of them!

(this counts as botanical, right?)

Photo Challange: Fire

Here I was playing around with shutter speed, etc. Moving fire is tricky to shoot! Anyway, here's some pictures of some Tiki Torches that lined the paths of the resort in Hawaii.

Aloha!

ALOOOOOHA! Wow! This was one of those vacations that you actually felt like you were on vacation, instead of one of those that you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation! It was SO nice! I'd go back to Hawaii in a heartbeat for sure! We started out a little rough, getting attitude from the lovely people at Denver International Airport...but I think they were just jealous that we were going to Hawaii and they weren't! ;^) But, like I said, it turned into a beautiful vacation! Here's some pictures!

This is the view from our hotel room...I am so not kidding!

This is a photo of my super handsome husband who took me on this fabulous vacation!

This is just a really cool picture of a little house/recreation center ontop of the volcano.

This is the volcano!

Ready for his close up! This is one of several dolphins living in the hotel resort.

Is is just me, or does this guy looked kinda ticked off? Not sure what his problem was! LOL!

This is in the area we went horseback riding.

Aloha!

Drew and Smokey!

Aaah! Yep! This is the life!

Oklahoma...it is OK!

Whew! We've moved! Well...we're out of our apartment and all of our stuff is on it's way to the west coast where it'll hitch a ride across the Pacific to S. Korea anyway! Meanwhile, we flew out to Denver yesterday, catching an earlier flight, which made things easier on all of us in the end. So, we've been enjoying our time in Denver with Drew's parents. Today I went for a spa day...Kami had given me a gift certificate to a spa salon for my birthday back in February. I hadn't used it until now, which worked because tomorrow Drew and I are on our way to Hawaii! Yay!! So, now I look half way decent to hit the beaches!

On another note, Kamden is nearly one years old now, and I haven't done a "Kami Update" in a while, so while I'm thinking about it...

...Kami can:

  • walk
  • sleep through the night
  • go through the day (and night) without nursing
  • say: "yesh"=yes, "mo"=more, "bu"=bird, "baba"=papa (aka: grandpa), "m-ma"=grandma, "ot"=hot, she also has a word for "dirty", but it's too difficult to describe. There might be more, but that's all I can think of right now.
  • throw a ball
  • throw a tantrum
  • eat all sorts of solid food. In fact, that's all she'll eat. Her favorites being: green beans, cheese, 'lil Chunchies, animal crackers, mandrin oranges, chicken nuggets, and more.
  • give kissies

One of our favorite things she's been doing now, is when she sees something she wants to eat, she'll come up to you and say, "yesh! yesh! yesh! yesh!" It makes us laugh everytime. She also now has 6 teeth. 3 on top, 3 on bottom. So, watch your fingers, she's got a good bite!

I think that's about it! I hope everyone is doing well! For all of our friends in Oklahoma City, we will miss you very much! Thank you for all of your help and support this past year. Most of all...thank you SO much for being so willing to be a friend, even though you knew we'd only be there a short time! That meant so much to us! And to the rest of the world that reads this blog...I highly recommend living in Oklahoma if you are contemplating it...they've got some quality people living there.

OK! You may not see me blogging much this next week....but I promise lots and lots of pictures! Speaking of...the photo challange topic this last week was: Habits. I will have photos of my habits and a new challange when we get back from Hawaii! We were a little last week for me to think about a challange! ;^) Alright! ALOHA for now!

For Calvin

I've been meaning to post this for a while, and now that I sent this to my sister and it's now in her hands, I can finally! This is a magnetic board I did for my brand new nephew, Calvin.

I've got more projects and scrapbook pages on the horizon! I just went through all of my pictures and project...deciding what I want to bring while I stay with my parents this summer! I plan on taking full advantage of the time that grandma and grandpa spend with Kamden! ;^)

Air Show

Today we went to the Air Show at Tinker AFB and had lots of fun! Although, I didn't prepare as much as I should have...I forgot to bring the sunscreen and a blanket to sit on while we watched the show...so, Drew bought us an umbrella to keep Kami out of the sun. She did get a little red on her cheeks (I feel like such a bad mom!) and Drew and I got a little burned, too. We decided it was time to go after an F-16 ripped through the air and scared the pants off of Kami! I've never seen her look so afraid! Poor baby!

Kamden in the cockpit! She wants to be just like her Uncle Dave!

Enjoying the show.

It sure is noisy out here, isn't it!?!

Speaking of Uncle Dave....here's an old friend of yours! (for those who don't know Drew's brother, Dave...he's an instructor pilot and actually used to fly on a plane just like this one. Truth be known, I had to get a shot of this because I had a really great idea for a scrapbook page!)

Kissy-Kissy!

So, my Mom was visiting this past week with us (helping us out with our move and take our cat back with her) and taught Kamden how to give kisses! This is her kissy face! What a nut!

Photo Challenge: Things You Can't Live Without

Okay! So, a couple weeks ago a came across a 2007 Photo Challenge on a scrapbooking site that had a different topic of the week. I thought it looked fun and thought I'd play along...only with my own rules! ;^) For instance, I don't plan on posting a photo every day of the week, rather, one for the week. Also, I reserve the right to change topic as I please! LOL! Anyway, for this week, the topic was "Things you can't live without". Hmmm. Besides my family? I had to think about this one. Finally, I came up with this; it's not very often that I leave the house without my diaper bag! And, since recently taking an airplane trip with my 11 month old daughter and husband, I thought I'd share with you the contents of my diaper bag for our trip. The way I figure it, if my 11 month old can't live without it, I probably can't either!

Okay! Not only have I took a photo of my diaper bag contents, I thought all you readers might enjoy a little game. I'm sure you've all played it before; it's called "What's different?" Can you find 9 things that are different? Have fun and enjoy!

Meet Me in St. Louis

Alright! We're back from St. Louis! What began as a stressful vacation turned out to be such a blast! First of all, to all those I wasn't able to see while back in STL, I'm sorry I missed you! I hope you're not too mad at me! ;^) Anyway, here's some picture from our trip!

Kami munchin' on some snacks in the airport (on a side note, I was playing around with my flash under the airports floricent lights, so, lighting wise, which works better, this photo or the last one on this post?)
In our hotel room, Kami's always up for snuggling in bed and reading a good book!
Okay, this was funny. Drew and I were both getting ready for the day, with Kamden running around the hotel room; suddenly it got pretty quiet, so when I went to check things out, there was Kami, sitting in front of the TV with a can of Green Beans that was left over from the night before. Hmmm....nothing like green beans at 8:00 in the morning!
A friend of mine has a lake house in Southern Illinois and invited us down for the day. We had tons of fun on their boat and riding the wave runner!
Kami had fun swimming in the lake, too!
Time to go back home! See ya later, St. Louis! We miss you!
